Compressed Gas and Specialty Applications

Sherwood Valve is an ISO 9001:2000 certified producer of precision valves, known for nearly a century as a manufacturer that consistently meets the highest industry standards. Our facilities in New York and Pennsylvania are equipped with state-of-the-art robotic machine tools, cell technology, and modern cleaning and inspection equipment.

Our many years of experience in designing and manufacturing cylinder valves for almost every conceivable application has given us the ability to provide the most complete product line in the industry.

To the best of our knowledge we are the only manufacturer in the United States making valves and accessories for all segments of the compressed gas market - including chlorine, medical, welding, specialty, specialty and semiconductor applications.

Achieving such manufacturing versatility calls for an in-depth knowledge of valve design, construction, and applications, as well as having the capability to do precision machining. The result is the ability to produce valves to exacting standards, meeting specifications of such associations as the CGA (Compressed Gas Association), DOT (Department of Transportation) and NFPA (National Fire Protection Association).

All valves made for compressed gas cylinders are designed specifically to meet the safety levels established for the particular cylinder to which it will be applied. CGA specifications for cylinder valves are strictly adhered to and pressure relief devices are on file with the Bureau of Explosives.

Awareness of industry trends and changing requirements are very important to Sherwood. As a member of such associations as CGA, NWSA (National Welding Supply Association), and IOMA (International Oxygen Manufacturers Association), we play an active role in the growth and improvement of our industry and its service to specifiers and buyers.
